Owner Profile - Nick Miller

Director and owner of Imperial Homes Qld, Nick Miller has been part of the building industry since 1985. His connection to building began even earlier, growing up surrounded by the industry and spending many of his school holidays on building sites alongside his uncles.

Nick began his formal training in Sydney, completing the first year of his apprenticeship at TAFE, where he was recognised for his skills and commitment by receiving the prestigious Apprentice of the Year award for his district.

He went on to work in Port Macquarie, where he continued his apprenticeship working alongside one of his uncles in a small construction company. The hands-on nature of the business gave Nick the opportunity to experience virtually every aspect of residential construction from an early stage in his career - from digging footings and framing homes to pitching roofs by hand and even laying the turf at the completion of a project.

Nick obtained his full house builder's licence in 1991.

After completing his apprenticeship, Nick moved to Brisbane and worked as a quantity surveyor and estimator for one of the city's major builders. While the role provided valuable experience in the commercial and management side of construction, Nick's passion remained firmly with the hands-on side of building.

After returning to carpentry and gaining further experience in building, Nick established Nick Miller Homes in 1995. Over the following years, he built a strong reputation throughout Brisbane and the Redlands for quality workmanship, personalised service and distinctive homes.

In 2003, Nick Miller Homes became Imperial Homes Qld, reflecting the evolution of the business from its beginnings as a small building operation into an established company supported by an experienced network of staff, tradespeople, subcontractors, suppliers and industry professionals.

Today, Nick brings more than four decades of building industry experience to Imperial Homes Qld. His extensive hands-on background, combined with decades of experience in estimating, construction and project delivery, continues to shape the company's approach to building - with a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, attention to detail and creating homes that are genuinely tailored to their owners.
